A Prophet according to Wikipedia:
A prophet or prophetess is a person obligated with the responsibility of being a follower from a holy person or thing with the purpose of making social change.
There is a saying that "you are never a prophet in your home town" and it's so true.
I work as a computer tech for a local school board that believes Windows is the only true OS.
I still believe that Linux and Open Source Software can be an integeral part of computers in the classroom. Right now it's an uphill battle but I believe that it will change. Linux is widespread across Europe and other countries are adopting it's use. North America will take longer but I believe it will happen unlike my colleagues who tease and put it down. (Oddly enough one or two are starting to try it).
The hope of this blog is to share my enthusiasm of using Linux, terminal servers, educational software etc in schools to help benefit students and those who can't afford computers at home.
I know there is so much that can be done but I am only one person. I hope this is the start of something good for education, the environment and building confidence for our future.
